Mountain House
The concept for the Mountain House was to strip back the design to a minimal palette of quality materials and bring them together in a simple but highly articulated and refined manner. The heavy anchored concrete contrasts with the lightweight glazing and aluminium to provide light and shade, warmth and mass, prospect and refuge. Located internally is a double-height void space surrounded by the key functional elements of the house. These rooms spill into the void to provide complete flexibility and functionality.
